Dr. Leo Krawetz of Healthy Feet Podiatry in Tampa, Florida, surgically removes gout crystals and gouty trophos from one foot.
I am Dr. Leo Krawetz of Healthy Foot Podiatry. I have a patient who has gouty tophi and now I'm going to remove it. If you get a close you see there is more tophi on the side side of your board too and this is going to come out almost in a clamp and you can see that it is like the paint when excrement this out. It is almost the painting of the joint and this is the tophi here. That's the tophi. Everything is more gouty tissue. This is a person who has uncontrolled gout who has had multiple gout attacks over the years. If you look at the joint yourself you can see that the cartilage is almost painted white from the gouty tophi, but in reality it is still in very good shape and there is still a good movement of the joint if you look at the way the joint is is moving. So once you finish cleaning this can have an absolute movement of the joint and is able to walk around running even without pain. Thank you.
